Sometimes, when brooding over our messy garages, basements, or storage sheds, we overlook the usefulness of the three or four blank walls facing in. Undoubtedly, you've got a system of garage shelves, various garage cabinets, and assorted cupboards that house some rarely used tools and chemicals. Finally, those who are very ambitious, with lots of stuff to stow, will love the overhead garage storage items that are out there. Most start in size from about 4 feet square to about twice that, and what a difference it makes for seasonal storage. Some advice regarding the overhead storage, though: if you are considering a very large unit, buy one with a lowering system so you don't have to remove everything to get to the middle. These will be more expensive and should probably be installed by a professional, but they're plenty worth it when you realize what you need is right in the middle of a bunch of other junk.
